Statewide Changes

Reducing Tobacco Usage in Minnesota

At Feeling Good MN, we work with partners across the state to advance efforts to decrease tobacco’s harm all across Minnesota. We are proud to be part of a coalition comprised of leading healthcare, public health and other organizations from around the state who make up Minnesotans for Smoke-Free Generation.

We share a common goal of saving Minnesota’s youth from a lifetime of tobacco addiction, and we do so by focusing our work on these key strategies:

  • Raising the tobacco age to 21 – One of our key initiatives is raising awareness about how raising the tobacco age to 21 will save lives here in Central Minnesota and all across the state.
  • Funding tobacco prevention program – Tobacco prevention efforts are proven way to reduce tobacco use, especially among populations specifically targeted by the tobacco industry, including youth and diverse communities.

Day at the Capitol

In the first few months of every year, Minnesotans for a Smoke-Free Generation partners with tobacco prevention initiatives from across the state to bring student advocates to the state capitol to talk to their elected officials about protecting them from the harms of tobacco. As a partner in this state-wide coalition, Feeling Good MN brings student and adult advocates to St. Paul for a day a training and lobbying.
