FDA Cracks Down on Flavored E-cigarette Products
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced it will begin the process to ban menthol in cigarettes and limit sales of e-cigarettes to youth. The move follows a report from the Centers for Disease Control that shows a 77 percent increase in vaping among high school students from 2017 to 2018. The report stated that 3.5 million children now use e-cigarettes, which is one million more kids compared to the previous year. The ban would prevent most retail locations from selling flavored e-cigarettes, which is viewed as a direct marketing tactic to target youth.
